Who I Support
I work with people who feel like they’re carrying more than they can comfortably hold.
It may show up as:
• stress or overwhelm
• shutdown or burnout
• emotional heaviness
• feeling alone even around others
• old patterns that keep repeating
• a sense that something in you needs a slower pace
Sometimes there’s a clear reason, life transitions, grief, chronic stress.
Sometimes there isn’t. Both are welcome here.
I also work with helpers, caregivers, and people others rely on, in their work or in their lives. The ones who are often steady for everyone else rarely get to set things down.
This is a space where you don’t have to perform, hold it together, or stay “on.”
You can arrive as you are and let yourself be supported.
What I Offer
Somatic Experiencing® Healing Sessions
Somatic Experiencing® sessions are slow and steady. We work at your pace, following what feels safe and possible in the moment so your body can begin to settle and unwind.
People come in with overwhelm, old patterns, transitions, or simply the sense of holding too much. Together we make room for your system to soften and find a bit more steadiness.
Optional touch sessions
With your consent, gentle supportive touch can be included.
Light, steady contact can help the body feel grounded and supported, especially in places that feel tense, overwhelmed, or distant.
There is space to pause.
Space to not know.
Space to be human.
People often leave feeling:
• calmer
• clearer
• more present
• more themselves
Trauma Informed Support for Healing Businesses
This offering is for healers who want the behind the scenes parts of their work to feel as steady as the spaces they hold for others.
I help care for the administrative pieces that often become overwhelming or draining, bringing structure and clarity so your practice can run more smoothly.
This can include:
• scheduling and calendars
• client communication
• invoicing and payments
• help in organizing
Everything is approached with care for your capacity and the natural rhythms of your work, not pressure or productivity expectations.
The goal is simple:
You can focus on the people you serve, while feeling supported in the background of your business.

About Jen:
I’m a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner and social worker. I support people who tend to carry a lot inside, especially helpers and healers who are used to holding things on their own.
The Holding Ground grew from my own experience of learning that healing doesn’t come from pushing harder, but from slowness, safety, and steady support. Through my personal work with Somatic Experiencing®, I began to feel how much the body needs time and steady presence to settle. That experience eventually led me to train and practice this work with others.
I care about offering a space where nothing has to be performed and you don’t have to carry it by yourself.
Somatic Experiencing® is a way of working with what your body is holding. Sometimes you understand things in your mind, but your body still feels tense, anxious, or shut down. Instead of trying to change that directly, we slow down and pay attention to what your system is doing right now. With time and support, it often begins to settle on its own.
Sessions are steady and collaborative. We start by noticing how you’re arriving and follow what feels manageable that day. I may invite grounding, awareness, small movements, or optional supportive touch. Nothing is forced and nothing has to be relived. The goal is simply to help your body feel a bit safer, so it can soften and come back into balance.
What Somatic Experiencing® is:
What Somatic Experiencing® is not:
Somatic Experiencing® is not talk therapy, cognitive processing, or a method of revisiting traumatic memories in detail. It does not require you to analyze your experiences, re-live painful events, or push yourself into anything overwhelming.
Somatic Experiencing® is not a quick-fix technique or a forceful approach to emotional release. It doesn’t involve diagnosing, giving advice, or telling you what your experiences mean. Instead, it follows your body’s natural pacing and supports change through gentle awareness, regulation, and the completion of what your system has been holding.
Somatic Experiencing® is not a replacement for talk therapy or mental health treatment. It does not take the place of psychotherapy and is not intended to treat mental health diagnoses. It can be a supportive companion to therapeutic work, offering a body-based approach that helps the nervous system settle, integrate, and find more ease.
